Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen denied NOC by PCB for Global T20 Canada

PCB Denies NOCs for Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi for GT20 Canada 2024

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi for their participation in the Global T20 (GT20) Canada 2024.

The PCB’s decision comes in light of Pakistan’s demanding cricket schedule from August 2024 to March 2025. This period includes nine ICC World Test Championship matches and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

“The PCB received NOC requests from Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, among other players, for the Global T20 event. After a thorough review of Pakistan’s packed cricket calendar, including the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy and several crucial Test matches, and after consulting with the players and the national selection committee, we have decided to deny their requests,” the PCB stated.

The board’s decision underscores the importance of prioritizing national commitments during a crucial phase for Pakistan cricket.
